    AI for Roofing

Turn every storm lead into a signed contract before competitors call back.

The Valley Marketing Group builds AI and marketing for Phoenix roofing companies: a receptionist that answers storm-season calls, captures roof type and age and whether a claim is filed, books inspections, and follows up on estimates — built around Arizona's A.R.S. 32-1158.02 post-storm contract rules and ROC advertising rules.

    In plain English

What “AI for roofers” actually means

It does not climb a roof or adjust a claim. It answers the phone after a storm, when every homeowner on the street is calling the same five companies.

    Job #1

Answers every call during storm season

A voice assistant picks up when your phones are flooded.

What it does for you: Roofing leads are expensive — LocaliQ's roofing cost per lead is about $228 — so an unanswered call is costly.

What it will not do: It does not negotiate or discuss insurance coverage.

    Job #2

Captures the facts for an inspection

It asks roof type, approximate age, whether there is a leak, and whether the homeowner has filed a claim.

What it does for you: Your estimator arrives knowing what they are looking at.

What it will not do: It does not promise coverage or tell the homeowner what their policy will pay.

    Job #3

    Books the inspection

It offers real inspection windows and confirms by text.

What it does for you: Fewer lost leads in the days after a storm.

What it will not do: It does not solicit during an ongoing loss event; Arizona law restricts that.

    Job #4

    Follows up on estimates

After an estimate, it checks in and answers questions.

What it does for you: A roof is a big decision, and follow-up is often what separates the job from a competitor's.

What it will not do: It does not ask for assignments of benefits or pressure the homeowner.

    Job #5

    Requests reviews

After a completed job, it asks for an honest review.

What it does for you: In a category with storm chasers, real reviews and a verified license are a differentiator.

What it will not do: It does not gate reviews.

    Start to finish

One post-monsoon call, start to finish

It is the morning after a severe storm. A homeowner sees a water stain on the ceiling.

    1. 1
      8:15 a.m.

      The call is answered

The assistant says it is your company's automated assistant and asks what happened.

    2. 2
      8:16 a.m.

      It collects the facts

Roof type, approximate age, leak or no leak, and whether a claim has been filed.

    3. 3
      8:18 a.m.

      It books an inspection

It offers real windows and flags urgent leaks for a tarp.

    4. 4
      8:19 a.m.

      Rights are explained, not oversold

It tells the homeowner that a licensed contractor cannot promise coverage and that your estimate will say so.

    5. 5
      After the estimate

      The follow-up runs

A short check-in goes out, and a review request follows after the job.

    Every angle

Every angle a roofing company has to cover

Roofing in Phoenix is repair, replacement, storm, commercial, and HOA work.

    Storm and insurance work

Arizona's post-storm contract statute gives homeowners cancellation rights, caps the down payment, and bars contractors from acting as the adjuster, so scripts and contracts must follow it.

    Repair and leak calls

Leaks after the monsoon are urgent and often the first contact. Fast response and a tarp offer earn the replacement.

    Residential replacement

Replacement is a large, considered purchase, and Phoenix pricing differs by material.

    Tile, foam, and shingle

Phoenix has all three, with different lifespans and failure modes, and homeowners search each by name.

    Cool-roof and energy angle

SRP offers a Cool Roof rebate for rated products installed by an ROC-licensed installer, not for new construction; we confirm current amounts with SRP before publishing.

    Commercial and flat roofing

Commercial accounts are won by response time and reporting, and the cost of a miss is higher.

    HOA and property-manager work

HOA roofs often need architectural-committee approval, so process and documentation matter.

Google Ads and Local Services Ads

Roofing is the most expensive home-services category in LocaliQ's benchmark, so every unanswered call costs more.

    The numbers

How homeowners decide, and where roofers lose them

After a storm, homeowners call several roofers and trust the one who is licensed, responsive, and honest about insurance.

We could not find an independent roofing close rate or a Phoenix post-monsoon seasonality benchmark, so we do not publish one. Vendor close-rate figures vary widely.

    What it costs

What a Phoenix roof replacement costs, by type

Material changes the job size, which changes what a lead is worth.

Because those figures conflict by about a factor of two for tile, we use them only to show that Phoenix jobs are large, and we do not quote them as prices. Foam-roof pricing for Phoenix was not found. Cost per lead and city notes are on our roofing agency page.

    Rules we work within

    The rules we design around

Arizona has a specific statute for post-storm residential roofing contracts, and it shapes what the AI can say.

    A.R.S. 32-1158.02 — post-storm residential contracts

Contracts must disclose cancellation rights: 72 hours after the insurer denies the claim and four business days after signing. The down payment cannot exceed 50%, the contractor may not pay or promise to pay the deductible or act as the homeowner's adjuster or negotiate the claim, may not start work before the insurer decides unless it prevents further loss, and may not solicit during an ongoing loss event. The estimate must state there are no assurances of coverage.

    Source: A.R.S. 32-1158.02 (azleg.gov, opened)

    A.R.S. 32-1124 — ROC number in advertising

The number must be preceded by “ROC” on bids and published advertising. On internet ads it may be omitted only if the ad links to a website that prominently displays the name and number, which the Registrar says means the home page.

    Source: A.R.S. 32-1124 (opened)

    Unlicensed adjusting

Arizona requires an Insurance Department license to adjust, investigate, or negotiate settlement of claims, and the department has ordered a contractor to stop doing it.

    License classes

Sources conflict on whether CR-42 is dual or KA-42 is, so confirm your class on the ROC site before advertising.

    TCPA and recording

AI-generated voices are “artificial” under the TCPA (FCC, 2024), and Arizona is one-party-consent under A.R.S. 13-3005, but we announce recording.

    Source: FCC ruling 2024; A.R.S. 13-3005

We are a marketing and technology provider, not your counsel. Have your contract and any insurance-related scripts reviewed by an attorney, and confirm any amendments to A.R.S. 32-1158.02.

    What goes wrong

    What goes wrong

These come up in the statute and in regulator warnings.

Promising a “free roof” through insurance

The statute bars paying the deductible and requires the estimate to state there are no coverage assurances.

    Acting as the adjuster

Contractors may not negotiate the claim, and unlicensed adjusting has drawn regulator action.

Soliciting during an ongoing loss event

That is restricted, which matters for any outbound script or text.

Asking homeowners to sign over benefits

Assignment-of-benefits practices are legally sensitive; the AI should not request them.

A license number only in the footer

The Registrar's guidance is the home page, clearly visible.

    Questions, answered

What is AI for a roofing company, in plain English?

It answers calls during storm season, captures roof details and claim status, books inspections, follows up on estimates, and requests reviews. It does not adjust claims or promise coverage.

    Will it talk about insurance?

It asks whether a claim has been filed, but it does not promise coverage, negotiate, or act as an adjuster, which Arizona law restricts.

What are the cancellation rights on a storm-repair contract?

A.R.S. 32-1158.02 requires disclosure of a 72-hour right after the insurer denies the claim and a four-business-day right after signing, with refunds within ten days.

How much down payment can I take?

No more than 50% of the contract price on a covered post-storm residential contract.

Can I pay or promise to pay a homeowner’s deductible?

    No. The statute prohibits it.

What do my ads need to show?

Your ROC number, preceded by “ROC,” and for internet ads a link to a site that prominently shows your name and number on the home page.

Why are roofing leads so expensive?

LocaliQ's roofing and gutters category shows the highest cost per lead among home services at about $228, with a lower conversion rate than most trades.

Does a cool-roof rebate exist in Phoenix?

SRP offers a Cool Roof rebate for rated products installed by an ROC-licensed installer, not for new construction. We confirm current amounts before publishing.

Where can I see cost per lead and city notes?

On our roofing marketing agency page.

How fast can it be live, and what does it cost?

Most companies are live within days once the call flow is set. Pricing depends on services; book a free audit for real numbers.
